A ceremony was organised on the occasion of the award granted by the A. G. Leventis Foundation for contribution in the field of the preservation of the cultural heritage, whose nomination was proposed by the Bulgarian National Committee of ICOMOS.

The ceremony was held on 08.02.2008 in the Crypt of the Alexander Nevski Cathedral.

In the ceremony participated the chairman of the A. G. Leventis Foundation – Mr. A. P. Leventis, the Deputy chairman of Europe Nostra – Mr. Kosta Karas. The event was attended also by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria – Mr. Georgy Pirinski, the Deputy Minister of culture – Mr. Ivan Tokadjiev. In the ceremony took part also representatives of the Nessebar municipality, the Director of the National Art gallery, as well as representatives of the intellectuals in the country.
